"Outside the Lines," a collection of fabric art, is featured in this colorful exhibit to open at the Lincoln Art Center. A reception for the artists will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, January 13.

Three 5 foot by 5 foot multicolored fabric panels, "History of the Smoky Hill River Valley," is on loan from the Smoky Hill Museum, Salina.

The quilt was designed by Bob Regier of North Newton and created by the Silver Needles Quilt Guild of Salina. The project was funded in part by a grant from the Horizons Grants Program of the Salina Arts & Humanities Commission.

PatchWords connect quilts and words in a collaborative paper quilt. Writer Lori Brack, Salina, lead this project with local writers to produce an installation of word patches.

Also included in the exhibit is a fabric installation by Lola Bulman, miniature quilts from the collection of Debbie Devine, quilts loaned by Kathryne Purney of the Quilt Station and Verna Mettlen's quilt group in Lincoln. Deb Ortiz, Lincoln, worked with second grade students to create, WinterPatches, a word quilt.
