Dreams & Bones, a collection of figurative ceramic art by Mary Detrixhe is featured in this colorful exhibit to open at the Lincoln Art Center. A reception for the artist will be held Friday, July 11 from 5-7:00 pm., with a gallery walk at 5:30 pm.
Detrixhe, Russell, earned a BFA with an emphasis in ceramics May of 2002. Mary has exhibited her work in local and national juried shows and has won awards and honors. The figural sculptures are built using the slab method with stoneware clay. Inspiration for her work comes from nature, cycles of life and death, and the roles of women in society. Multiculturalism, strength, and sensuality are themes in her art works.
