LINCOLN - "This is a Book? This is a Book!" exhibit opens March 2, 2007 through April 30th. The Lincoln Art Center is proud to present this unique collection of artists’ books. Artists from across the country offer their clever, colorful and creative works for this show. The books are diverse in methods, materials and technique.

The purpose of this exhibit is to provide artists with a venue to showcase Artist’s Books, a small but growing medium. These 43 artists express their interest in the form beyond the emphasis of the visual over the literary aspect and explore the sculptural as well. They expand on the preconceptions of the book as merely flatness. Their pieces become powerful sculptural objects incorporation diverse, sometimes unconventional, materials.
