Art 4 Ten

All exhibits are free and open to the public Tuesday - Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lincoln Art Center, 126 E. Lincoln Ave., Lincoln, Kansas 67455. For more information call (785) 524-3241.

'Rubaiyat' by Kelly Draper. Art 4 Ten opens Friday September 3rd, 2010 at the Lincoln Art Center.

"Art 4 Ten" , artworks by Kelly Draper, and Scott Holl, of St. Louis, MO., Marty Olson and Jackie Sundell of Lawrence, Kansas, will be exhibited at the Lincoln Art Center. The opening reception and gallery walk will be Friday, September 3 from 5:30-7:30 pm. This exhibit will run September 3 through October 15, 2010.

Kelly Draper works in metals and fused glass, often combines techniques and materials from both media in her work. She draws inspiration from textile patterns and Gothic Victorian. She teaches at Craft Alliance in St. Louis.

Scott Holl, a graphic designer with a masters in Library Science is an Assistant Manager of the Special Collections Department with the St. Louis County Library. He finds artistic inspiration in memories of growing up in central Kansas and his deep roots in Lincoln County.

Marty Olson works in monotypes, printmaking and acrylic painting. "Coming Full Circle" is the theme of the series he will be showing. "I am fascinated and haunted by the rich layers of history in New Mexico, that layering is what I’m exploring in recent paintings".

Jackie Sundell graduated from the University of Kansas with a printmaking degree. She works in collage and printmaking. "Much like the natural collage of the Kansas landscape, each piece of torn paper has it’s own unique characteristics".

Julia Bland, Lincoln, will exhibit paintings. She is a well known local artist, her mural work may be seen at the Midwest Community Bank in Lincoln.
